Born with his mutation, Henry McCoy’s high intellect and unusually enlarged limbs brought him much hardship before seeking refuge at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Until one fateful day when McCoy’s scientific experiments went irreversibly wrong, enhancing his natural senses and constitution but inadvertently mutating him further with animal features such as claws, teeth, and fur.
One of the original five X-Men, Bobby Drake has been a super hero since he was a teenager. Using his powers of Thermokinesis (the ability to control and project extreme temperature, in Bobby's case, ice) Iceman has been a valuable asset to the heroic community for quite some time. Having served as an X-Man, Defender, member of X-Factor and even a champion, he has put his Omega Level powers to the test against a large range of foes.
Utilizing his control over all electromagnetism, Magneto has used his powers for many purposes: leader of the Brotherhood, terrorist, and even X-Man. Once a close friend of Professor Charles Xavier, Magneto took a more extreme path against prejudice and used his powers to prove mutantkind's superiority by any means necessary. Not an unreasonable man by any means, Magneto has been known to work on the side of angels if he feels it will accomplish noble goals and this time is no different.
