Inspired by the exploits of Iron Man, circus archer Clint Barton decided to put on a costume and fight crime as the super-hero Hawkeye. At first he was mistaken as a criminal, but Barton eventually gained the trust of the Avengers and has served on that team with distinction many times.
In addition to his pinpoint accuracy, Hawkeye relies on a quiver full of gadget arrows with various high-tech tricks. But even without his arrows, he's a formidable combatant thanks to hours of training with Captain America.
His sarcastic wit sometimes rubs allies the wrong way, but Hawkeye remains one of the most loyal and dedicated Avengers in the team's history.
As one of the world’s finest marksmen, Hawkeye excels at one thing: ranged combat! A natural athlete and something of a showoff, Hawkeye has a variety of acrobatic and close combat abilities that can help him get out of a jam.
Hawkeye's begins the game with two active powers and a passive one. On the left mouse button is Hawkeye’s basic attack, Quick Arrow. Unleashing a volley of arrows allows Hawkeye to take down targets long before they approach him. Hawkeye’s other starting power, Forceful Kick, applies a swift boot to enemies in melee range, knocking them back with a chance to stun them. A simple starting combo would be to kick enemies away with Forceful Kick, then follow up with a volley of Quick Arrows.
As with other heroes, Hawkeye starts with a passive power at level one, Precise Aim, which grants him a bonus to his critical chance. Critical chance can be very important for Hawkeye, as it allows him to deal maximum damage as often as possible with his variety of arrows (trick and otherwise).
Level 2: At level 1, Hawkeye lacks an effective way to deal with multiple enemies at once (although Forceful Kick can hit an extra enemy or two). Once Hawkeye unlocks Taser Arrow, he’s able to hit two enemies at a time with energy damage, while also causing knockdown on each target affected. This is a great power to use between Quick Arrow volleys, as it's ideal for slowing down the advance of more powerful foes.
Level 3: If Taser Arrow doesn't slow an enemy enough, Getaway Roll is unlocked at an early level to prevent Clint from being overrun. Getaway Roll allows Hawkeye to roll through enemies and under attacks, and will even stun any enemy that is rolled through. Since it costs spirit, this is best used sparingly between Quick Arrow and Taser Arrow to maximize both damage output and Hawkeye's survival chances.
Level 4: As with many of Hawkeye’s abilities, Freeze Arrow allows him to do just as it says: it freezes targets! Freeze Arrow is incredibly effective at locking down targets who could otherwise deal serious damage to Clint, and can be combined with Quick Arrow and Getaway Roll to keep his distance!
Most of Hawkeye’s abilities rely on keeping enemies tied down or outright avoiding their attacks while you deal damage to them. If you’re looking for an agile hero that focuses on ranged combat, Hawkeye is your hero!
